In all honestly, I shouldn't even be here. I'm busy as hell - at least up to next wednesday - but I wanted to check my account and then figured out that I really needed to update my journal. DA is addictive, people!

Well, it was due to happen someday. Really. But why it happen now, years later than anybody else is anyone's guess.

Finally decided to use another browser as my default one instead of Internet Explorer. Let me explain something right away... I've been using IE since... duh! Forever? and in all honestly I had zero problems with it (of course I never upgrade it beyond IE 6 since I loath - LOATH, DESPISE, HATE!! - the tabs that all the current verstions of all the browser have). The only times I had to try to upgrade to IE7 (because some silly web page complained that my version was "outdated") version 7 would cause problems with my operating system (Windows XP Pro x64 - yep, I'm running a 64-bit machine. Weeeeeeh!!). So very gracefully I would downgrade my browser back to version 6 and open the complaining web site with Firefox.

Now, perhaps I'm the only person in the world that has zero understanding of all the "holes" people keep complaining that IE has. Really folks, I've never had any kind of problem with viruses for THAT'S WHAT ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAMS ARE FOR!!!! (I've been using AVAST! for years now and this program is so aggresive against viruses sometimes it becomes a paranoid prick that won't allow to open a page just 'cause it "detected" something weird with the page!!! And I thought I was paranoid. AVAST! really takes the definition of paranoia to the next level ). Not to mention that I'm very careful with what I open and where I move around in the internet. Maybe if someone that is patience enough and had the time to explain the whole "hole" thing to me I could finally understand what it is all about. For the record, it had been 2 years without any kind of problem before I had to format my computer and it was because of something I did wrong, not the internet browser allowing anything what caused my computer to ack whonky.

Oh, and for those that are going to start asking, "Why didn't you change to Firefox from the start?"... Did you read my explanations above? I had ZERO problems with IE, so why should I change it? Then, with dear Firefox... for some reason or another some of the pages I visit regularly WON'T work with Firefox. I've tried, people. I did try. I NEED IE to open such revellious pages. On the other hand, every now and then my favorites will disappear from Firefox. I went to the help area of Firefox to find out what the heck was wrong and the "funny" dudes there just said that I should make backups of my favorites every now and then! What the-?!! That's NOT a reasonable excuse you lame-os!! I've never have to do backups for my favs in IE unless I'm planning to format my computer! I do of course understand the importance of doing periodic backups of my stuff, but one thing is doing "wise periodic backups" and another all together that the browser will just "dispose" of my favorites just because! Going more than 3 times a week to search for my favorites backup is ridiculous!!! So that's the reason Firefox is not my default browser.

This takes us then to Opera. I had to kick IE6, because is acting weird with DA. No idea why, except that I blame it on the ridiculous "spify" things that DA have been adding to the site. Really, DA, most of the "shinny" new things are useless and I couldn't care less for them!! I mean, before V6 everything was running smoothly with IE6 and since the "DA upgrade" a lot of weird things happen! (The loading of the page would take forever and sometimes it even froze IE. When you want to reply to some message you got to press the "reply" button several times for it to actually happen. The upper bar - where the icons for the "Channels", "Help" and such are - sometimes doesn't work at all and it freezes the browser unless I get out of DA. When you cick the Messages/Deviations link, it takes forever for the page to open up - not to mention that it freezes IE most of the times for a couple of minutes. And other annoying things that I have to thank DA for!!)

So, I decided to finally do a Google search about browsers info and after reading around 20 reviews aparently Opera is a nice reliable browser that so far is working very good with DA (no frozing of the page, opens the Message page very fast - as a matter of fact it opens any DA section faster than Firefox! ) and haven't lost my favorites in the week I've been using it I din't uninstal IE - remember the evil pages that refuse to work with other browsers! - but for now Opera is my default browser. Will see what will happen from now on.

Oh, being that I'm NOT a taking-risks kind of person, I'm not trying Google's Chrome since that browser is still a beta. Just thought I let you know

Now, back to my stuff, since I'm NOT suppose to be in DA since I have a project due this next Monday-Tuesday and I'm far from done!!!
